Guayusa Tea Powder

Guayusa Tea is native of Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest.  The indigenous people of this region have used guayusa for centuries for their morning boost and to provide the focus they need to complete their daily tasks.

• Sustainability – Guayusa has a minimal environmental impact especially when compared to cattle farming, lumber or oil drilling (common economic activities in this region).  When you buy guayusa tea you are helping to conserve the Amazon rainforest.
• Guayusa Tea Properties: This tea is a source of amino acids, polyphenols, and antioxidants.  Guayusa tea helps to lower blood pressure, improve alertness and provide mental focus for daily tasks.  This beverage does not contain tannins, providing a smooth, naturally sweet drinking experience.
• Powder versus Loose Leaf: We prefer to work with ground Guayusa tea leaves (powder) because the steeping time required to brew your tea is much faster.  This gives you time to enjoy the amazing properties of Guayusa while having a little more time to complete your daily tasks.  
• Great coffee alternative – The caffeine from Guayusa is released into the body at a much slower rate than coffee, thus avoiding the jitters from a sudden caffeine intake and the eventual coffee crash.
• How to Prepare, Herbal Tea: We recommend one (1) tablespoon per eight (8) ounces of hot water.  Steep for 30 seconds to a minute before drinking.  Straining tea residues is optional.  
• How to Prepare, Guayusa Latte: One (1) tablespoon mixed in with two (2) ounces of hot water.  Strain concentrate into mug.  Add six (6) ounces of hot milk or milk alternative, preferably steamed and foamed.
• How to Prepare, Iced Guayusa Tea: One (1) tablespoon powder and one (1) tablespoon sweetener mixed with two (2) ounces of hot water.  Strain concentrate and add to a glass 3/4 full of water and ice.
